The Orlando Gay Chorus (OGC) performs at pride events, sporting events, and various other community engagements in Central Florida. In addition to two main stage concerts, OGC presents smaller cabarets and performs at least once a year to cities outside of Orlando, like Sanford, Ormand Beach, and Cocoa. Every 4 years, OGC has performed in GALA (Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses) Festivals. In the five years since the Pulse tragedy, OGC and its ensembles continue to be ambassadors of hope and healing to the victims’ families, survivors, and those affected, performing in over 150 Pulse-related community engagements in the first year alone. In addition to music, OGC is known for humanitarian efforts. Every November, the sections of the Chorus partner with the Children’s Home Society (CHS) and sponsor families in need for Thanksgiving Day meal baskets. Proudly, OGC hosts the longest continuous US Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots campaign in Central Florida. OGC also donates time and talents with performances at benefits and community awareness events. Donations help the chorus live out its mission of creating a community that affirms diversity through the performing arts and its vision of creating impactful change in the community as a proactive force for equity, inclusion, and authenticity.
