About

We are looking for board members with an appreciation for, but not necessarily extensive knowledge of, classical music. We are seeking representation from diverse demographic groups. We are looking for areas of experience including marketing, finance, law, fund development and governance.

We ask that all Board members make a financial contribute. There is no set amount. Contributions this year ranged from $100 to $45,000. Unless there is a conflict of interest, we also ask that Board members help identify potential donors..
Our nomination process is ongoing.
Trustees serve staggered three year terms. There are no limits on the number of terms.
The Board meets bi-monthly September through May. Meetings are typically held in the afternoon on the third or fourth Wednesday of the month.
Standing committees are Artistic, Finance, Marketing, Development, Nominating and Endowment.

Mission

The Mission of the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park is to delight, challenge and inspire the Central Florida community by presenting exceptionally high-quality performances of the finest classical music, with special emphasis on the music of J.S.Bach and those inspired by him. We also seek to introduce people of all ages and backgrounds to the beauty and relevance of classical music and its derivatives.

Central Florida residents interested in serving on the board of directors of a local arts and culture non-profit: United Arts of Central Florida, your local arts agency, has introduced the Diverse Leadership Pipeline with information about Board leadership in nonprofit arts and cultural organizations and an opportunity for you to self-nominate on one common form that allows you to designate the organizations where you wish to be considered for Board service. United Arts will forward this information to the organizations that you designate interest in so that they are aware of your interest and can consider your application for Board Leadership. Please make sure to read the organization’s profiles so that you are clear on their unique Board service expectations for your time, talent, and treasures. If you are open to any organization, United Arts will assist in making a connection for you!
