About Emerging Arts Leaders: Central Florida (EAL:CF)
Mission Statement: Emerging Arts Leaders: Central Florida, aims to cultivate the next generation of arts and culture leaders and artists through relationships and professional development. Emerging Arts Leaders: Central Florida is a United Arts initiative in partnership with Americans for the Arts.
Eligibility: We define an “emerging leader” as anyone working in the arts and culture (including science and humanities) community 40 years old or younger or those with less than 10 years professional experience in the field.
Programming: EAL:CF programming focuses on professional development and relationship building opportunities.
- Mentorship: We are pleased to announce our inaugural mentorship program. Mentors includes prominent members of the art community such as Flora Maria Garcia, Gene Columbus, and Terry Olson. Through these relationships, we hope that mentees will glean knowledge of how to preserve and build upon the efforts of arts leaders so that Central Florida may continue to be a haven for arts and cultural affairs.
- Training Subsidies: Wells Fargo has provided generous support to provide additional training to the emerging leaders currently in the United Arts program through the Rollins College Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. Each Emerging Arts Leader is eligible to take one workshop that EBI offers at 50% off the published member rate (within one year starting September 1, 2017) – the subsidy will be available until the funds are expended and will be on a first come first served basis.
- Networking: A variety of networking events are held throughout the year. We often host our networking events in conjunction with local arts events, combining both social and cultural interests while supporting the local community.
