United Arts Makes it into the Top Five for Walmart’s Associate Choice Program
Walmart offers a program where they let their associates vote to select a charity in their state to receive $100,000. United Arts of Central Florida has made it into the top five Florida-based nonprofit organizations this year!
1. Florida Association of Food Banks
2. Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs
3. Foundation for Excellence in Education
4. United Arts of Central Florida
5. Florida’s Foundation
Walmart and Sam’s Club associates will have the ability to vote for their pick of the above five during an online poll conducted in June and July. Each associate will have one vote. The organization that receives the most votes per state will be identified as that state’s “Associate Choice Winner” and will receive a $100,000 grant. Winners will be announced in August.
This contest is internal to Walmart and only allows associates to participate in the Walmart Associate Choice Program. Unfortunately, there is no website with more information on this granting program. However, we are all welcome to use social media to get the word out about it. A few guidelines Walmart has set up:
1. Do not solicit associates on Walmart property.
2. Speak with the store or club manager only.
3. You can use social media to reach out to associates to view during non-work hours i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.
If you’d like to help us out, please feel free to re-tweet the info from our account at www.twitter.com/UnitedArts. It would be a huge kick start for the arts in Central Florida to be honored with this grant, that garners national acclaim.
